Today is my 2 week transplant anniversary. Yea! It's hard to believe it's been 2 weeks. In one respect, 2 weeks seems like it was long ago, and in another respect, it seems just a short while ago.

My "vitals" are stable. Wt up a 1/2 lb to 218.5, although overall, it's stable. BP 138/78 (so far, the Magnesium hasn't helped with that), no fever, and ( Read more... )

 The Transplant Nurse called yesterday with my Prograf level: 6.6. It was 3 when I was discharged last Thursday, so it came up nicely. Dr. Maloo does want it in the 8-10 range for the first 3 months, so I will change my dose to 4mg in am and 3mg in pm (had been 3 and 3). So far, no side effects.

Today was my first outpatient follow up with the transplant surgeon.

I initially met with the Transplant Nurse, and she went over everything such as meds, labs, weight, BP, etc.

The surgeon came in, and overall was very pleased. He's very perfectionistic, and asked "what are we going to do about your weight?" But then he realized that my weight ( Read more... )

Prograf 3 mg twice daily (used to prevent my immune system from rejecting the kidney); the dose of this will be regulated by lab work, and will likely change.

 Good day today. My creatinine went from 5.9 yesterday to 4.8 today, and I'm putting out up to 200 cc of urine an hour!

I'm starting my Prograf today, my IV fluids will probably be d/c'd today, and they'll take the catheter out tomorrow. I do have a 20 lb weight gain since dialysis on Saturday, but once the kidney acclimates, that should come off.
