Not much new as far as the transplant; everything is status quo (which is good).  Vitals are all stable, and I managed to get more fluid in yesterday. My urine hasn't caught up yet, as I think I might be on the dry side; it's a darker amber color, so I need to take in even more today.

Mono is caused by a herpes virus; either EBV or CMV.

I think the number of adults that test + for CMV (as in past infection) is 50-75%, so it's common.

It usually causes a sore throat (and I think that I once read it can cause a viral bladder infection), but with a suppressed immune system, can damage the eyes, liver, kidneys, and brain, and if a pregnant woman gets it while pregnant, it can cause fetal birth defects as well.

that gangster transplant irritates me! I was ready to give him the benifit of the dout. As a Dr you treat everyone no matter theur morals. But to go to Japan to examin him. NO. That makes it all fishy.

Absolutely. When it comes to transplants, there really shouldn't be discrimination (exceptions: if the patient is terminal, or if there are an excess of foreigners coming here and taking organs that can go to our citizens). But the doc went to Japan to examine him because he wasn't allowed here due to his criminal past? How many people did he kill? And we're saving his butt with a transplant? Doesn't make sense...
