The icontalking comm at dw has 180 subscribers (even if only 6 regular participants). I hope it should be a good starting point to promote icon comms there.
The really good ("elite") makers never made the jump, sadly. But there have been some. shameless666 for example was there for a long while and also ran a comm. I hope that with this "incentive" (eek), the elite makers will make the switch now and we can take root on DW again without losing too many people. <3

Yeah I hope too that we don't lose too many active makers but thankfully at least based on the poll at somein30 almost everyone is willing to move there if necessary, so that's a huge relief.

Friendships and the community that surrounds are so much more meaningful than the channels they are built on!
Yes, absolutely :) Very glad to see you're over there as well!

\o/ - also a little melancholy, but... yeah. The fact that the iconmaker community was so firmly rooted on LJ is the only thing that kept me here. I am much happier with DW. I actually had a bit of anxiety about participating in LJ comms since the crossposter stopped working, and the idea of everyone moving to DW (i so hope they do!) is something that makes me relieved.

OOoh, I loved it! It's so weonderfully geeky, and it still reminds me of farscape. All around a good name. But! Your new name is also awesome, and I knew right away that it was you when I saw it for the first time yesterday. :D
I've been storing all my icons on LJ's hosting since photobucket stopped cooperatingoh god i know the feeling. I've been moving my icons to my image host for what feels like years, and I'm still not done. I switched in 2017, and there are *still* half a year worth of icon posts ( ... )

Oh nooo D: I didn't even know you too used LJ storage at some point. Well, at least you've done a massive amount of the work already!
