Phoebe

I don't know what to think. She's drinking Cole's pure-evil tonic. I tried to convince Cole that striking a compromise with the forces of good by releasing Phoebe is in everybody's best interests, but the superstitious fool kept going "I'm evil, I don't compromise, I serve The First". Storming the penthouse is likely to get Phoebe killed, and ( Read more... )

I feel so helpless.

Yes, well that's why I made the suggestion I did this afternoon. I don't know what magic is involved, so I didn't know if it would be possible.

If that's at all possible, I know less about magic than you do.
What did the Halliwells say?

I've heard of hostages gettin hooked on those who took them, but this is somethin' else - would she even cooperate in a rescue attempt?

I'm pretty certain that "no".
If I thought she'd co-operate, I would have been there right now. Unfortunately, it seems that Phoebe is the only one who can help herself. Unless we decide to mount an all out attack and vanquish Cole, or try to sneak her out.

can a tranq help for cooperation? cause she won't go with out a fight. that way we can sneak her off.

Well, if we try to get her now, both she and Cole might try to kill us. I wouldn't mind taking the risk...but if she kills an innocent, there's no coming back. Of course, if she keeps this up, eventually an innocent might be killed either way.

"Superstitious fool"? You're the fool -- can't you get it through your head that I am the Source of All Evil? I am what I am, and your pointless attempts to "compromise" will get you nowhere. The First does not compromise. The First does not negotiate. The First takes what it wants, destroys what it wants, and none of you will be able to stand in its way.

The First and you are both capable of losing. Until you realize that, I must conclude that your stay in hell has taken its toll on your mind, as well as your soul. You're the Source. The First's the First. I'm John. Now that we're quite through with the introductions, maybe we can get on to more useful stuff. Like seeing if it is possible to avoid a fight neither of us wants. I believe you're evil, but I don't believe you're stupid.

And I don't believe you can do anything to harm me, so your words mean nothing. Phoebe is mine now. The Power of Three is broken. There's no force on earth that can match my power. It's not that I don't want a fight -- I don't care, because there's nothing you can do.

The First cannot be stopped.

Accept it.

I did.

The First cannot be stopped

See, again with the superstitions. Let me spell it out for you in simple words: the First can be stopped. Buffy's stopped him once. You can be stopped. The Power of Three stopped you once, when you've thought you've broken it. Your overconfidence will prove to be your undoing -- I only hope it won't prove to be Phoebe's undoing. Her blood will be on your hands, if it does.
