A Christian Nation?

It would be amusing, if not so disheartening, to watch the argument over whether the United States is a Christian nation. The argument comes from there being at least two different ideas about what the term “Christian Nation” means

I sometimes fantasize about taking people who object to saying "Happy Holidays!" rather than "Merry Christmas" because "This is a Christian nation;" bundling them into a time machine; and sending them back to Puritan New England, where/when observing Christmas was frowned upon.
