I thought this was a very well done follow up.
"Finding that you'd do something like that makes me question whether I ever even knew you at all." Ouch! Poor Laurie. But Ralph does seem to be very sensitive about certain matters doesn't he? The ending is a tease, but still in the style that Renault would write it. Will there be a part 4?
I really like you're portrayal of both Laurie and Ralph for how true they seem to match the book. I never liked the idea of Laurie as a writer because that description fit Ralph much better, but having him work in publishing is very possible and works well for the both of them.

Thanks so much. This one made me nervous because I had led up to it so long. I was really afraid it might disappoint. It is very important to me to keep the characters true to the book so I really love your saying that.

Heh Yes, Ralph can be quite sensitive and is so convinced he isn't--just as he's sure he's not romantic. The next one may be less of a tease though. :)

I am definitely planning on writing more about them. It's a wonderful break from the stress of my other writing.

I was so afraid Ralph was going to take a little longer to realize that Laurie really did have his best interests at heart and would never hurt him on purpose.

I was a little afraid that I was having him realise it too soon, but I just couldn't stand to have them fighting any more. *chuckles*

Mind you, Ralph still hasn't signed that contract.
