I spent effectively all weekend trying to fix my computer... whenever I could spare an hour or two. Something seems broken and it doesn't seem to be my hard drives. Wondering now about PSU, motherboard or... uh... RAM sticks? I don't know. It's annoying. I'm able to install Vista to a single hard drive, but if I try to use the RAID, then EVERYTHING ( Read more... )

The movie of The Road sounds like it is going to be Viggo-fantastic.

Ahem.

I need to get some McCarthy to read.

They're doing a movie The Road? And it's got Viggo? DAMNIT, now I will have to read/see it. It's my love for Viggo; it transcends annoying manuscripting.

Sisyphus never stopped rock'n and you're not going to stop this vista-on-cheap-raid torture, now are you?

Unlikely! I've been planning on ditching the RAID in favor of a single, fast, larger hard drive, but haven't the cash required. But now that it doesn't seem to be working, I want to keep working on it to see what's broken.

HDD's tested fine, which I pretty much expected. Maybe the raid chip itself? Urgh, I don't know.

The book was quite good. I'm thinking of picking up a few other books the author has written to see if they're also any good. Never thought of myself as a historical fiction reader, but it was quite interesting!

Sucktastic on the pc... These are times when I wished I were more pc savy so that I could help out. As is, you and others are the guys I rely on to fix my shit, normally >.<

As for "No Country for Old Men", I've yet to watch it, but I have a friend who showed me a particular clip from the movie and named her 3v3 arena team in WoW, "I DRINK YOUR MILKSHAKE"

I haven't seen the whole Milkshake thing, though I keep hearing the joke. I feel out of touch, haha.

I'm confident I'll get to the bottom of the PC thing eventually... it's just a matter of having time to spend working on it, which I really don't.
