By the Book is certainly going to be one of my favorite episodes, in part to the Look that Peter gave Neal and all of Neal's reactions to Mozzie and his spontaneous actions. And I love that you have Neal confront that here, because going and asking to get lectured, so not a Neal Caffrey common.

I loved that Peter asked him 'Which lecture would that be?' effectively having Neal realize his flaws and lecture himself. And the 'Daddy issues' made me grin. Reminds me of Neal's line in the episode to Mozzie about thinking how to explain the breaking and entering to Peter.

And couch-cuddles!! Lovely!! :D I feel all warm and fuzzy reading that now.

Thanks Luvspnl! I'm so glad this gave you the warm fuzzies. (Yay fluff!)

It was a great episode, wasn't it? Definitely one of my favorites too. I loved that the focus on Moz was interwoven with some priceless Peter-Neal moments.

Meanwhile--yeah, Neal asking for the lecture (even if it was to get it over with) was probably a bit out of character, lol. But Neal seemed to grow up some in this ep, recognizing what his actions had cost Peter back in the day and how frantic with worry Peter must have been in the present. So, um, I figured it was ok to take that liberty. ;)

Thanks Gnome! I agree with you about this episode--I ate up every minute of it! (Especially Neal realizing that Peter had missed an awful lot of dinners with Elizabeth because of him . . .)

I don't think I've left a comment on these yet, but I love this series. They're so cute! It's fun to see this take on their relationship, rather than a slashy one. It's really creative, and a nice spin on the fandom norms.

Thanks Lioness! I love slash and OT3 too, but I'm still a sucker for the father-son aspect of Peter and Neal's relationship. So that's what I decided to focus on in this series. :)

Peter's sarcasm always makes me laugh. And I love the comfortable, homey feel of this. I was feeling warm and drowsy - only I didn't have Peter to snuggle up to. I think it's wonderful of Peter to accept Neal's need to see him as a father figure. Their relationship is very complex but it works for them so beautifully.

Thank you!

*sighs happily*

Thank you for such a lovely review, Shelley! I envy Neal his Peter-pillow too. And I'm so glad the complex nature of their relationship came through here, as well as the comfortable, homey aspects of it. :)
