Thanks! One thing I liked about this episode was the fact that Neal brought Peter into his scheme; I can picture his excitement at having Peter for a conspirator--and then being allowed to dress him up, lol.
One thing I love about Peter and Elizabeth is their comfort with each other. I'm sure they have plenty of passion too--but I can picture them just being so used to the warmth of each other that it'd be hard to sleep alone even for a couple of nights. (And I'm glad that rang true for you!)
Maybe it's just that I've been reading Raymond Chandler recently, but Peter just sounds so old in this - in mind, rather than in body, but still, referring to Neal as 'the kid' and all that ... it made for a very interesting look at Peter and the dynamics of his relationship with Neal.
And now I picture Elizabeth coming home to that last scene and I'm going 'awwww!'. *g*
I have to admit that I love the scene in 'Free Fall' when Peter refers to Neal as "the kid." And of course that scene in 'Hard Sell' when Peter says, "Atta boy!"
I guess I don't think of it as Peter being old in mind (though I can see where you're coming from.) I think it's more that Neal's so young in spirit. He often seems like a brilliant kid with a great imagination--the kind of kid you can't take your eyes off for a second or he'll be into all kinds of trouble. (Without any goal of malice!)

(And, yeah, Peter's absolutely in denial.)

And I could see it bring hard to sleep alone after ten years of marriage -- it's hard enough after three.
