Gift Bucket for Dir en grey in Atlanta (not a concert review)
sYou probably don't remember my last post, but I was the one who posted giving a KFC bucket of gag gifts to Dir en grey when they came to the US for the Family Values Tour. I managed to make time for their Inward Scream tour (at the Roxy Theater in Atlanta, GA)... and I brought the bucket!
This time, I added more stuff in it... and it was all facial hair based 8D
~Colonel Sanders has a 'stache
~The Pringles man has one too
~Brought a packaged of Day to Day mustaches
~A "Jesus Shaves" sticker
~and Ferro Rocher chocolates... the only thing sane in the bucket XD
The note says: "We're From Kentucky" and underneath that is the unit conversin of how many miles/km we traveled.
we didn't include that little note card.
I actually wasn't allowed to even get the bucket inside the place.... even though I emailed Free-Will America about it and got the go ahead.
I didn't want everything to go to waste, so i reached back and took the mustcahes out of the package and my sticker.
It was a good thing that we did too, because my friends and I had a blast with the stick on mustaches. After the show, Kristen ran up to me with one on, ripped it off her face and slapped in on me... which I then wore out of the venue and into an iHOP and back to our hotel. I like to think that band would have done silly things with them on like we did... so imagine that these are pictures of Die, Shinya, Kyo, Kaoru, and Toshiya.
It's Borat andwhatever famous character with this type of 'stache Shinya and Die of course!
Liz slapped a mustache on the goldfish box Kyo of Dir en grey!
Kaoru shaves off his face pubes and magically grows a full mustache.
This is Kyo... again. He moves around too much.
I think Kyo looks better with a unibrow!
And let's not forget Toshiya.
We went back to the Roxy to see if we could pick up any leftover fliers. we didn't, but we got to see all of the grafiti in broad daylight. There was a well lit alley between the Roxy Theater and a furniture store. Most of the grafiti were stupid and the ground was covered in litter too. NEGATIVE GOLD STARS TO YOU PEOPLE! There was a trash bin just 3 feet from the alley. Anyway, we did find one sharpie graffiti that was pretty amusing.
we found this one pretty deep into the alley. We would have missed it completly if we didn't go back to the venue.
Amusing things that happend during the concert:
~ We saw staff and members from Bleed the Dream and Fairway to Midland in the light box to take a peek at the crowd. One of the guys from Fairway to Midland had huge Pata hair. He was also the guitarist and was completly spaztic... so I was completly distracted and I can't tell you a single thing about how they sounded.... It also didn't help that Imfamous Jake and the Pinstriped Mafia was stuck in my head. All I was concerned about was watching "Pata" head band, run up to the drums, and smack the cymbols before going back to his spot to head bang some more.
(And this was also where I met this really sweet girl from Tennessee that pulled me in front of her so I could get a better view. Are you somewhere out in livejournal? We talked about the long drive to Atlanta and hotels.)
~Kyo wears fancy TIGHTY WHITIES! They have a red band around them too!
~When we walked back to the hotel, we passed by this huge black bus with a Florida liscense plate. There were fancy lights inside and it appeared empty. I'm pretty sure it was the band's tour bus and we kept joking that Dir en grey was inside... hiding on the floor XD
And here's a question I want answered:
During the concert, I would occasionally feel a breeze on my scalp. At first i thought it was the AC, but sometimes it felt warm. (though still cooler than the sweat shop around me) Someone was blowing air and breathing on my head.
Is this some kind of wierd ediquite to move out of the way (even though they were taller I)? or were they just being a creepy jerks?

about the breathing, they're trying to make you uncomfortable enough to go away so they can take your spot. next time this happens,sock the person in the chin. Or stick chopsticks up their nose. ;D

This is what Dir en grey could have been doing! Putting mustaches on Fergi and other members of the Black Eyed Peas. She was a challenge to stick a mustache on.
Yup, that's the KFC gift bucket.... and a really awesome picture of our reflection going back and forth!
