Do NOT get me going. Two years ago, when we were at the height of the worst drought Dallas had seen since 1952 (and I know this because my in-laws married that year), the Dallas Morning News actually did the right thing for once and did a bit of research on private residences that were using the most water in the county. Now, Dallas itself was under strict water rationing at the time (I was incredibly glad that I had been collecting rainwater for my greenhouse over the winter, because I was able to water the house's foundation only once per week), but the cities of University Park and Highland Park were following Dick Cheney's lead of conservation being "a personal choice". (Just to let you know, Highland Park and University Park are surrounded by Dallas, the way Beverly Hills is surrounded by Los Angeles, but they're both separate cities, with their own school systems and police. This is very deliberate, in order to keep the riffraff out and make sure that HP children never come in contact with any non-whites other than the

Yeah, I can imagine. Of course, we're better watered here in the Chicago suburbs, but what watering we do is with soaker hoses and the like for the vegetable patch.
