I know that there are people out there who have a bunch of questions about Obama’s stance on the military and the war.  I decided to look up his initial statement in 2002 as an Illinois State Senator - a speech where he said what his feelings about war and the military were.

Please, let him win.
If there is anyone who can convince the American people that spilling fresh blood DOES NOT wash away that which has already been spilled, it's him.

Thank you for reprinting that. I knew that Obama was opposed to the war since Bush first waged it and Obama was still an Illinois State Senator, but I had not seen that particular speech. As he often does, Obama hits the nail on the head.
