from the bear rescue service:

For immediate pickup to a good home:

One large Kodiak brown bear, grown and not shedding.  Somewhat de-furred.   Comes when called to dinner, if a tad slow.

Injured face and paw, but very friendly.  Good with small child and dogs.  Loves fish - to eat.  Very good tempered, but can snark.   Medicine for injuries as part of the package.

Would happily hibernate, but keeps getting awakened by inconsiderate hospital staff. :-)

I swear, someday I'm going to remember when reading LJ that people are not always literal. I was fascinated that someone had a pet bear, until Jason looked over my shoulder and said, "Oh, good! Jim's going home then?". ::facepalm::

:P

Glad you're heading for the comfort of the homestead, at any rate.

So am I. Got the best meal this week, and am looking forward to my own bed and *uninterrupted sleep*. I mean, the worst I have to deal with here at home in the middle of the night is Mere crawling into bed at 2:30 am rather than a phlebotomist with a needle for a blood draw.

*chuckle* I came up with the idea of the 'adopt-a-bear' thing because Susan is so into dog rescue stuff and because she'd been asking very regularly as to when I'd be able to come home. Very, very, and I didn't have an answer. So when I called, I did a 'pardon me ma'am, but I'm from Bear Rescue - we have a ....wouls you be interested?'

So I have a strange sense of humor....I posted this right after I got home. - going to bed, I'm exhausted, so is Susan.
