WaPo:

The lead author and peer reviewers of a government report raising the possibility of public health threats from industrial contamination throughout the Great Lakes region are charging that the report is being suppressed because of the questions it raises. The author also alleges that he was demoted because of the report.

Meanwhile, Republicans in a couple of the Great Lakes states are trying to undermine the regional consensus not to drain the lakes so other regions can have the water.

You must remember that under Bushco there is no objective science. Facts are what they are defined to be by appointees and anything that indicates different is simply bad science and needs to be edited out of any reports. If you do reports, that is. And let anyone read them.
