Susan and I have had a couple of small VISA cards from (BIG ANNOYING BANK) for years; I dumped one account this year because they wanted to charge an outrageous fee for keeping the account open. ah, not so much stupid bank tricks, but stupid customer exploitation tricks.

You've been a DM.

You've done the same thing to players who don't pay attention and do something stupid.

Only the banks did it with real money you did it with hit points.

I'm still mystified as to how people can NOT know how much is in their account.
