My dad used to joke about the Barrel Method for raising children ("and when they hit puberty, you pound in the bung"). I'd forgotten about that until I read your post.

You're all suffering from a common misconception. The money does not go to the children or their parents. It is bait. The especially difficult child sees the cash, decides to climb into the big clear vat to get the money, and is trapped inside. The carnivorous plant inside digests the child, the parents are relieved, and society has one less difficult child to deal with. Works for me.
