To access the office’s intranet and server stuff, I have had a lot of trouble with using their VPN access system; I can’t go into details about it, but the old system was crude, impossibly slow and prone to total collapse. The new system is a ton simpler, and less technically problematic.

I've been working in IT since 1980... but still occasionally get caught with the First Stupid Rule. ("Is it plugged in?" "Of course it's plugged in, do you think I'm stupid?" "Could you check, just to be sure." "Oh. Well, it's plugged in but the power bar was turned off." or "Huummm, it appears we've blown a fuse" or "Hey! Who unplugged my computer!")
