Funny thing is, I think my dad actually made a lot of money off these same execs, as he is an events coordinator in Hawaii, and a lot of his business used to be based on corporate-level retreats, parties, et cetera. Not that I see him giving up his house in Kona out of a misguided sense of justice or anything, though, since he's willing to do just about anything to continue working his ass off on some project or another and keep the cashflow going.

At least he's working his ass off to earn his big bucks, unlike said execs.

As much as I'm a fan of blaming the republicans for their part in the mess as the Party in Power for much of that time, the Democrats were asleep at the switch. They either were colluding or simply failing in their responsibilities to shout no loud enough.
