Well, you know, if we ignore Pete Fitzgerald, they have a point. I was Carol Mosely-Braun's before Obama's.

As for Burris, If the democrats would just shut up and save it for the Primary, they might still have a chance. If they keep beating up on him until the next election, they're going to be screwed and Jim Oberweis or some other conservative with his head up his ass and plenty of money is going to have that seat.

Given the sheer insanity of N IL politics it's always astounded me that among the few Republicoids who survived the Great Purge by Fitz, was that wild loose-cannon of a too-right-to-care-about-IL-Republicans wack, Jim Oberweis.

Personally, I loved the headline in yesterday's Tribune that compared Bunning (R-KY) to Burris as far as the way he is viewed by his own party.
