The household seems to have totally dropped out of interest in serveral TV shows that we used to be highly interested in.   HEROES, for instance, got to the ‘oh, jeeze, this is ridiculous’ level in bizarre plots. The reality shows endlessly cranked The Formula, and we got tired of that.  I dropped off of CRIMINAL MINDS, NUMBERS and GHOST WHISPERER ( Read more... )

Not much help here.

Except that I think Numb3rs has gotten back on track.

House, of recent years seems to be improving. The first year or two I hated it, but then Doris Egan started, and I think she delivers consistently.

I'm enjoying Life on Mars on Thursday nights. I don't know how it's doing overall.

I watched some of it from the BBC, and one of the American ones. Seemed too massively frustrating to me.

I prefer Ashes to Ashes, the Life On Mars sequel.

It would be shorter to list out who Neela hasn't had a relationship with in that hospital. And more to the point it's almost like she's a black widow of sorts... sleep with Neela and your life goes to hell.

We're still about 2-3 weeks behind on Numbers but it appears to be getting back on track.

One show that I refuse to miss is "How I met your mother"

Really? I'm curious - what do you really like about it?

After the things here on Numbers, I'll give it another go. Suusan and my MIL say that Criminal Minds has gotten better, but geeze, it's depressing to watch crazy murderers all the time.

HIMYM is consistently witty, intelligent, and really funny. Neil Patrick Harris pwns completely, but the rest of the cast is good, too. They have deftly avoided several sharks so far. I really like it.

It's intelligently written comedy. There have been one or two klunker episodes here and there, but overall I almost always hurt myself laughing.

For example, in this weeks episode they were talking about "Girls who go WOOOOO!" and they started referring to them as Wooish, you saw it coming and yet when they started making the Jewish references couched in terms of being Wooish it was still funny. Add into that entire blocks of dialouge as if written by Dr. Seuss. I believe full episodes are available on CBS's website. if you want to give it a try.

I just read that piece on Salon. I agree with it. Too much declarative speech about saving the world, and not enough humor, ass kicking, and hot guys with their shirts off.

I don't care much about the hot guys, of course. And the cute girls on there aren't my type as such.

Interesting... seawasp November 23 2008, 23:56:24 UTC
... Seems to be something going around. Last year's season of CSI: Miami finally killed it for us, when they totally destroyed Horatio Caine's character (which is of course the central driving point of the show). They'd already really, REALLY pushed on that area, to the point I wasn't feeling comfortable about the direction they were going, but the final outcome was just not tolerable.

So I'll just think of it as a show that ended after 4 or 5 seasons.
