Let’s just say that the best of us get caught sometimes, and leave it at that.  Virus nailed my computer Thursday  in the late morning, and I spent an enormous amount of time nailing the SOB.  (One advantage of dual boot is that you can go over to the Ubuntu side and nail files that Windows won’t let you remove.)  And no, my *normal* antivirus did ( Read more... )

Ouch! This pretty much proves to me how broken Windows is. I am currently using Mint Linux, a sub-type of Ubuntu, as my primary OS. I absolutely will not use an M$ products unless there's no choice.

I hope you got it all working again with no problem.

Oops, I left something out of the above. It's that if even an expert user can't avoid an infection on a work machine, something is wrong with the OS.

Pleas tell me you did not open a "e-card sent by a friend". Margaret just got a lot of email at work warning about this and "the worst virus ever" it can contain. And I told her it was all hyperbole.
