My Life Is Weird

Not that this should be news to anyone, but I just wanted to say it. I have uploaded all my Vegas pictures as well as pictures of the National Christmas tree from this weekend to my flickr pageFriday I didn't manage to get together with Toni, so I guess we'll try again this week. I did break up with Jim though. No one particular reason, I just didn ( Read more... )

He gave some lame excuse about it being for a costume, but I think he was just trying to get skeezy gay guys to hit on him.

Having known Tony since his birth, I can pretty much say that yeah, you're probably right.

I have a similar issue with prayer going on in my workplace. It's never "We gather today to give thanks..." yada yada, it's always "Lord Jesus, we gather today..." at any situation involving a meal. I can't even sit back and hope that someone else complains to HR about it, seeing as how everyone in my division and possibly the whole building is Christian and the Christian vibe is a-movin' all around the building.

But wow, I can't believe he can't gave a book like that out as a gift. Are you sure that you and Lisa don't work in the same office?!

If Lisa and I do work in the same office, we need to start getting together for lunch more often.

Rachel beat me to the punch but I'll ask anyway; have I seen you around the office lately? XD But seriously, wow. My boss IS a minister and the only book he's given the staff is "How to Get Control of Your Time and Your Life." Then again I think it's already assumed that we're all Christians here so they don't try to bash us over the head with that kinds of stuff.

I *LOVE* the ornaments on the Tennessee tree. The bows on the National tree remind me of sugar cookies o.O;

It hadn't been that bad, but the prayers and the book happened within two weeks of each other. The impact would have been less if it had been a bit more spread out.

That is just... wow. Especially to me, coming as I do from a culture that is rather secular and still considers creationism a freakish thing.

But I'm with you on he book thing - I have this local anonymous Christian fundie who leaves pamphlets and books on the bench at my bus stop every single day. And I throw them in the bin every single day (I was reluctant to do so at first because... well, they're books, but having looked at what was inside, I decided that no, these were not worth saving). I wonder which one of us gets tired first?

For me it's balancing how much this effects me now versus how much it would effect me if I made a complaint. I really do like my work environment, my coworkers, and my boss. I feel that a complaint would adversely effect a good situation. If anyone starts bothering me about my lack of religious enthusiasm, that will effect me enough to file a complaint, but I'm going to be apathetic about things until then.
