I'm not sure how to classify this grouping of juniors. Technically, they could all be considered "fresh" as I don't believe any of them joined before late 2010, but the magazine doesn't refer to them as such, so lets just call them "miscellaneous juniors grouped together for a photoshoot" (*≧▽≦). The themes were movement and motivation, and each boy spoke about times that he feels like moving vs. times that he doesn't feel like moving, and how he gets himself pumped up. Also, just a note to the community moderator(s), with the exception of Akiba, none of these juniors have tags, which is why I didn't tag them.
Fast and Furious
We tried asking these 6 very energetic guys about how they motivate themselves during vacation times when they feel like moving, and vacation times when, conversely, they don’t want to move at all!
Shizuya Yoshizawa: Before a concert, I want to move my body. I make it a habit to practice what we learn during lessons at home. Also, on days off, I always play basketball with my club buddies. Me, I’m in the basketball club! The time when I think that I don’t want to move is probably the morning on vacation days. But I’m pretty good at waking up. Time when I can’t wake up, I always go out onto the veranda and feel the breeze.
Nickname: Shizuya. Birthday: August 10th, 1995. 16 years old. Blood Type: A. Hometown: Kanagawa. Height: 175cm. Weight: 56kg. Shoe Size: 27.5cm. Strong Point: The way I’m nice to my kouhai. Weak Point: the way I’m too precise. Hobby: Basketball, singing. Talent: Basketball. Favorite Food: Hamburgers, sushi. Hated Food: Eggplant, Japanese mint. Best Class in School: P.E. Worst Class in School: Japanese language. Reason for Joining JE: My mother and older sister submitted my application. Admired Sempai: Ryosuke Yamada-kun. Favorite Type of Girl: A girl who isn’t too loud.
Ryuusei Akiba: A time that I want to move is when it’s a super sunny day, probably. It’s not that I’ve gotten stressed, somehow it becomes that I want to do something refreshingly, pleasantly. Probably, rather than when I’m alone, I get the feeling of wanting to move my body when I’m in a big group of my friends. Those times, I say: “lets play some frikkin’ soccer!” Also, when I hear a song I know on the street, it makes me want to dance (smile), and when I’m with my friends who are also juniors that makes me want to dance too! There aren’t many times when I don’t want to move… At those times, I eat beef (smile). Yakiniku is the strongest! It’s still cold now, so if there isn’t any meat, I eat something warm. If I do that, the power gradually builds up inside me and comes out like: “yeah! Lets move!” But it’s got to be meat after all, meat! (smile)
T/N: Ryuusei demonstrated such spectacular leading abilities in the photography episode of JJL, I could easily picture him in the role of a unit leader in the future.
Kaito Nakamura: When I’ve taken a day off because of a cold, and then have to rest for one more day just to be sure, even though I’ve gotten better, I feel like I want to move my body. It was really tough when it turned into influenza and even after I’d gotten well I couldn’t move, or dance despite wanting to dance. The time I don’t want to move is when P.E. is the first school period of the day (smile). Times that I don’t want to move, I slap my own face to get motivated.
Nickname: Kai-kun. Birthday: April 15th, 1997. 14 years old. Blood Type: O. Hometown: Tokyo. Height: 170cm. Weight: 49kg. Shoe Size: 26.5cm. Strong Point: I’m energetic and cheerful. Weak Point: I get annoyed easily. Hobby: Handball. Talent: Dance, baseball. Favorite Food: Sushi, fried rice. Hated Food: None. Best Class in School: P.E. Worst Class in School: Mathematics. Reason for Joining JE: I saw my Johnny’s sempai on TV and thought they were cool. Admired Sempai: Tomohisa Yamashita-kun, Hikaru Yaotome-kun. Favorite Type of Girl: A nice girl who has a cute smile.
Asahi Kajiyama: There are times that I think: “my body sure is heavy before I stretch~” and at those times I feel like moving my body. I like moving, so even on days off, I never even think of resting! During breaks at school, I play soccer with my friends. The truth is, I’ll be playing soccer in the school’s ball game competition pretty soon, so it’ll turn out badly if I don’t practice seriously, but rather than practicing, I just play (smile). The girls at school often get angry with me, saying: “practice properly!” (smile) The sole time that I don’t feel like moving is when I wake up in the morning. I’m bad at getting up, and I often fall back asleep after I wake. I like school, so I always have the intention to wake up early, but today, yet again, I was woken up by my mother and was almost late.
Kaito Miyachika: I think that being sluggish on days off can’t be helped. In my case, I’ve started doing dance practice on my own. During breaks at school, I like playing soccer. Right now we’re doing soccer in P.E. class. The time that I don’t want to move is when I’m sleepy. First of all, I have to wake my moving self up. I’m horrible at waking up, so every day I get up by having my mom say: “wake up!” hundreds of times (smile).
Nickname: Miya. Birthday: September 22nd, 1997. 14 years old. Blood Type: O. Hometown: Tokyo. Height: 163cm. Weight: 48kg. Shoe Size: 26.5. Strong Point: I’m cheerful, I’m sexy (smile). Weak Point: I’m loud. Hobby: English. Talent: Dance. Favorite Food: Meat. Hated Food: Sour plums. Best Class in School: P.E. Worst Class in School: Everything other than P.E. Reason for Joining JE: My mother submitted my application. Admired Sempai: Hikaru Yaotome-kun. Favorite Type of Girl: A cute girl.
T/N: The gap between how Miya looks when he’s serious or only smiling a little and when he’s smiling widely is so big! I guess you could say that about most people, but I feel it particularly strongly with him. Also, I’m glad that he told us what his nickname is, and that it isn’t just “Kaito,” since that’s a fairly common name among the juniors.
Aran Abe: If you say “moving your body,” the number-one thing that comes to my mind is running. And also wall-ball, I guess. You put on a baseball glove, face the wall, and throw the ball against it. Generally speaking, I like being active, so I always want to be moving. But the times that I want to move the most are… Rainy days! For some reason, rainy days make me really want to move around. The truth is, I want to try going out in the rain and moving around to my heart’s content while getting wet, but I don’t want to get sick and people will stare, so that wish has just stayed a wish and I’ve never done it (smile). I’m always running around and playing wall-ball. Conversely, the time that I don’t want to move is probably when I’m tired. So first of all, I wash my face and drink something carbonated! If I do that, I wake up and get motivated!
T/N: I really like his facial expression in this picture. It’s a little awkward and a lot cute.
