I worked hard to take care of all of the members’ foolish acts! WEST generally has a lot of foolish members. The other time, when I was riding the elevator with Gakki, he did something really stupid. So much that I wanted to ask him, “Why did you do that?” (laughs). But when I took care of it, Gakki told me solemnly, “You even take care of boring things like that? You’re very kind” (laughs). Call me WEST’s exclusive foolish libero (laughs). Personally, I think that B.I. Shadow’s Kaneuchi is really funny. He’s exceptionally natural (laughs). He’s not very famous out in the world right now, but I think he’ll eventually be known as a funny person!
He led WEST properly this year, too. Especially, Kami-chan is very reliable in terms of our working schedule! Even for today’s gathering place, he advised me earlier, “This exit is the closest”. His care is amazing! He is very dependable and kind… Really, he always takes care of me well!
Yuto Shingaki
The fact that I became number one in “The person who became the most handsome this year” rankings by the fans’ votes! (*see page 56) Yes, this was expected… no, I’m just joking about that, but I’m really happy! I’ve never been praised by any of the members though (laughs). The members talk about my clothes a lot. A lot of the times, they tell me, “I don’t understand your style” (laughs). I like eccentric clothes, so people don’t understand me a lot of the time. Even on regular days, I often wear suits and ties. Kind of like the soccer player, King Kazu-san (laughs). I’m really skinny, so I want to use that and put on a thin silhouette. But unfortunately, I don’t look very good in hats, so I’m refraining from wearing them for now.
This year, he’s become funnier! Shige is the proper straight man, but Non-chan’s comedy is original and off the walls. But I don’t think the fans know about that side of him yet. I think that his funny side is one of his charms, so I want everyone to find out about that side as soon as possible!

Like Akito-kun and the others were talking about last month, I worked hard to do the laundry during the stages at Hinase (laughs). During our stay, I had to do all of the Kansai team’s laundry, but the hardest part was to tell the socks apart! I had no idea which one was whose (laughs)! I handed them out, saying, “Please pick out your own socks.” But I learned to tell their underwear apart. Akito-kun has a lot of red ones, Junta-kun has cute ones, and Hama-chan’s is black and simple. And this year, I think a big change is that “my fashion became more eccentric”. Soon, I’ll be in the same zone with Kanjani’s Yasuda-kun (laughs). I bought a pair of sunglasses in Tokyo, and people around me were all surprised. Oh, how does it look? It looks like 3D glasses (laughs).
I don’t know if this is hard work or not, but he’s become even more affectionate this year, and he apparently still loves Shige. But recently, he sometimes comes to be sweet towards Non-chan and me, too. That makes me happy… wait, this is kind of like I’m talking about a pet or something (laughs).

What would you wish for if Santa could grant your dreams?
Daigo Nishihata
For one day, I want to be a Tokyo Junior! The other day, I had the chance to meet the members of Sexy Zone, and they were so handsome! Shori-kun had such a small face. So I want to become a Tokyo Junior and become friendly with people like Sexy Zone and others! And this one is very realistic, but I want a bicycle. The tires of the one I had became flat. But when I become a high school student, my parents are going to buy me a new bicycle, so I’ll wait a little more!
Ren Nagase
For one day, I want to be a really good professional soccer player! If I could be part of the Intel team, that would be awesome. I admire Nagatomo (Yuto)-san, so I want to be on the same team as him. The position would be forward or side back. Nagatomo-san’s overlap shot is really cool. I’ve tried to copy him before, but I couldn’t make a goal. If the overlap shot succeeds in a big tournament or something, I bet that would feel great.
Iori Yoshino
I want a new smart phone! A lot of the Johnny’s elders have them, and they’re often playing games on it during break and looking stuff up on it, and I thought that was useful. If it’s something that I can’t buy, I want a special power that enables me to memorize dance moves after watching it once. But I became able to dance to Veteran’s “Go”! I said, “The moves were really cool, so please teach me,” and Tatsuki-kun and Hamanaka-kun taught me. I was really happy!

I want a drum set, and skills to be able to play it! I’ve been thinking that drums are really manly and cool, and I was going to start taking drumming lessons. And in the future, I want to CD debut as a band. And at least once, I want to be in a variety show. If it’s something that requires action like the one Arashi is doing, that would be awesome! If the prize for that show was a drum set, it would be even better (laughs).
Yoshinori Masakado
If it has to be something that I can buy, I want a smart phone. Right now, I have a regular cell phone, but people around me are getting smart phones, so I want to be part of the group, and use my fingers (laughs). And I want to become a more positive person. I keep wondering, “Was that okay?” every time, and becoming depressed after I do something wrong. I want to have a more optimistic personality.
