I would have gotten it wrong. I thought they landed in 1948.

Right you are! The poll doesn't tell us how many New Mexicans think they landed in 1948, or 1949, or ... instead.

There could well be a majority of New Mexicans who believe in a space alien landing at Roswell.

I thought they crashed? Landed sounds like they planned to be captured?
