You'd think I'd learn. I really should stop making bets about elections having lost three out of three. Now I will just have to, once again, last longer than Schmengie in the BARGE No Limit tournament to undo the monetary effects on me of the Walker debacle ( Read more... )

Here's possibly the oddest anecdote from this election.

I have a pretty close friend in Madison, very progressive, voted (of course) for Barrett. So did her 20-something son. Her husband, who has never voted and doesn't want to, registered to vote before signing the recall petition. He cared deeply enough to change his lifelong policy so he could sign the petition. (It transpired that you didn't have to be a registered voter to sign the recall petition, which may actually be a factor, but they weren't sure at the time he registered and signed.)

However, he flatly refused to vote.

heh...good luck. Do we have a bet on the General? I think we do...guess you will have to beat me next year as well :-)
