Lost in the din of tracking polls, Palin and the Federal takeover of most of the country's mortgage system, three things that could effect the election happened just recently.
Is there data on the major-party preference of Libertarian voters? I know I'm a distinct minority, as an occasional Libertarian who tilts strongly Democrat in tight races where my vote has nontrivial leverage. I'm just curious how *much* of a minority...
(I've voted for President four times. Twice in IL for the Libertarian, once in MA for the Libertarian, and once in CA for the Democrat. NV is the first state in which I've registered Democratic, IIRC I was independent in CA and Libertarian everywhere else.)
Since the results are nationwide, they could easily not apply specifically to Nevada and/or Montana.
But more specifically we're interested in people who registered Republican to participate in the caucuses and primaries, and who then supported Ron Paul.
As it turns out the actual Libertarian vote in NH in 2004 was miniscule (0.05%), so getting a Libertarian on the ticket in NH may have almost no effect.
I've only recently begun to look into the stances on the 3rd parties, but I feel I sympathize most with the Libertarian party. I've always leaned left.

"Libertarian voters make up 4% of the nation’s likely voters and they favor Barack Obama over John McCain by a 53% to 38% margin."
