I'm being upset that american apparel doesn't sell maternity clothing. I just want some simple, nicely cut, maternity crap. I'm like a size bigger than I used to be and my clothing is getting a bit snug. what a waste of money! I should just walk around nekkid for the extent of my pregnancy. or, better, I'll buy a bunch of those empire waist ( Read more... )

Dear Jamie.

Lots women buy our clothes to wear when they are pregnant! Oscar, my friend who works at one of our stores, told me that the l/s henly dress is especially popular with the mommy-to-be set, and I think that the pillowcase dress would work well too, and the thing about that one is that even if you buy it in XL, you can wear it afterwards, because it looks really great slouchy (check it out on Kate Moss here -- I think she is wearing a small, but I am pretty small and I've worn a large like that, and it still looked great). Also, many of our skirts have and pants have super-wide waist bands, and everything is super-stretchy, so it should accommodate a big tummy. Granted, I am not an expert on maternity wear (not yet...), but I can put you in touch with some of my co-workers here who had babies recently and rocked AA clothes throughtout their pregnancies.

If you want to take me up on that offer, e-mail me at weronika@americanapparel.net.

how did you find my livejournal? I would be pissed at your advertising to me on my own journal, except that I can make an exception for american apparel, since I like the clothing and you seem to only be trying to be helpful... thanks, I guess.

I read news items, including blog entries, about American Apparel every day. That's part of my job. Your live journal came up on a search.
