Yeah, I think purgatory/limbo/whatever other spiritual "resting place" you might prescribe to. I love that the stain glass in the office where Jack met Christian had different symbols from different faiths; really illustrated that in a neat way.

Richard being able to age was *tears*, because finally, he gets to live and want to live. And yeah, I was disappointed too that Daniel and Charlotte didn't get an epic flashback/show up at the church, but I think that had to do with Desmond telling Eloise he wouldn't take him, so I guess they just get to go on altverse dates until they're ready to move on. Interesting that none of the freighties were there, or Richard for that matter ... it made me sad too that Locke was there without Helen and David wasn't kicking around.

Hee, those commercials were too awesome for words. Smoke detector for the smoke monster? Amazing.

I liked the window too - it really kind of makes me feel that they're not just going to ~heaven (although that's probably what the writers had in mind), but something else.

Richard is the last person I ever expected to get off the island, and oh my god. *tears* indeed! I kind of loved the scene where Eloise asked Des if he was going to take Daniel. I feel like maybe Daniel wasn't at the church because Eloise hasn't fully reconciled the fact that she killed him? I feel like the rest of them will eventually "let go" and have their own little church scene in the imaginary world of the LOST we'll never see. And David? Does that kid even exist? If they were all dead in the altverse and David didn't exist in the realverse, then... WTF?

I taped everything. Will watch Kimmel later.

I love your post and stuff, but, like.... theyre all dead. :[ How? Why? Did they all die in the plane crash? What about Vincent? And omfg Ben was like Hurley's version of Richard, awww.

I dont even know what to say other than omg they all went to heaven but some people got left behind. Sad.

Kimmel was loads of fun. :D

What I got out of it was that they all died when they died, like on the island - Boone died when the plane fell, Locke died when Ben killed him, Sayid and Sun and Jin died on the sub, ect. And then Richard and Kate everybody who left died years later and Hurley and Ben eventually die years and years (and years?) later. So like, the altverse wasn't set in any time in particular cause it was purgatory or something.

I think the ones who were left behind will (or would have or whatever) follow them eventually.

That makes sense. *chin stroke*

So that means that Jacob and MIB were real, right? It wasnt just one big game, one big con?

OMG, I REALLY CAN'T BELIEVE THAT RICHARD. DIDN'T. DIE.
I KNOW! AND I WAS SO PREPARED FOR IT AND EVERYTHING AND OMG BEST. THING. EVER.

Seriously, of the million and one things in the finale that made me happy, that made me happiest of all. ♥

If the writers had anything in particular in mind about what happens to the people who left, I don't want to know about it. I kind of hope they don't have anything like that as a bonus feature on the DVDs, because I want us all to be able to make up our own minds. It would just suck all the fun out of it if they told us everything.

Like, they still get to reunite for adventures, but not heartbreaking, just fun insane adventures because I enjoy them.THIS. This finale makes me never want to write angsty fic again. Well, not never, but as far as what happens to Hurley and Ben on the island and Des and Richard and everyone who left. All I want to do is write/read fun, happy, even fluffy fic where they're all having epically wonderful times. I'm kind of working with a plotbunny for this ridiculous ( ... )

I'm not sure why, but Indian Jones-esque fic comes to mind. I want to send Richard and Co. on world spanning, Indiana Jones-esque adventures facing crazy things in more exotic locations. Maybe they're running nutty errands for Island Masters Hurley and Ben ( ... )

AND SAWYER/JULIET. XD Thank you so much for giving them happiness! XD

More plotbunnies! Or maybe just one more for right now: the plane's running out of fuel, but they have enough to land. On the Canary Islands. Cue Richard and the return of his cute insane laughter. I'll need to really research the Canary Islands, especially what it's like today. It would be a major Richard introspection fic there.

Oh, and one more: Hurley and Ben somehow contact the plane escapees and get them to help return Desmond, like contact Penny and such.

THAT SAWYER/JULIET REUNION COMPLETED MY LIFE. There were tears involved there, too. My god, I have never, ever cared about a canon pairing on this show as much as I do those guys.

:O YES. PLEASE LET THEM LAND IN THE CANARY ISLANDS. SO RICHARD CAN DO THAT LAUGH AGAIN. :D :D :D

I like your other one too! I'm definitely up for Hurley visiting the survivors Jacob-style.

I was so worried when they passed each other that one time in the elevator without looking, but it was taken care of 100x times over later.

I HAVE TO DO THAT POST-ESCAPE CANARY ISLAND FIC SOON. There's already little scenes of like everyone practically freezing and going "oh hell" when none of them can't speak Spanish and already missing Hurley--and then Richard steps in to translate (though Sawyer just misses Hurley even more). Richard half sad, half happy while madly trying to navigate the Canary Islands to figure out where his and Isabella's old house was. And besides Richard/Isabella, I don't think I can resist Richard/Miles too.

There's really a nice plotbunny there in figuring out how to wrap up Desmond's arc and return him to Penny and Charlie Jr., and like everyone can get involved in that.
