Agreed. I admire your dedication to what you believe in. It makes me feel like a little bit of a slave to my paycheck, but luckily, that doesn't make me feel the need to mock your trip. I admit that I looked up trips like these over the summer, and in most cases, the organizations wanted your money, not your service, and seemed to play "entertain the American" for a few weeks while you pretended to volunteer (so you could go home and brag about your vacation with a purpose). Your organization seems much different, and I'm not only impressed that you are going through with your plan to volunteer, but I'm impressed that you were able to find a place where human services are genuinely needed.

Thanks, Lech. That's a fucking incredibly sweet thing to say. Especially out of the blue. One day before we leve (and probably when I get a phone) we should get together and talk about the antisocial conditions under which you and I lost contact.
