*shudders* the anon meme. :( The first time I found myself being disembowelled there my reaction was to want to stop writing, and to take all my fic down. It's sort of unutterably horrific to know that that shit's being said behind one's back. I've managed to stay off it since then, though I've had some close calls when I was depressed and thought 'I just need to know what people really think of me,' like the shit-talk is more real or valid than people enjoying the fic.
There are writers in this fandom who have a way of creating a reality that remains incredibly vivid in my mind, and I know I'm forgetting a bunch, but here are some:
