the flague (flying plague)

Friends, I'm sick. I woke up at 4 this morning with a pick-ax where my right sinuses should have been and with the intense need to take the good Sudafed IMMEDIATELY. I then spend the next half hour scheming in a drugged-out haze about how to call in sick when it was a more reasonable hour of the morning. Sudafed and the remnants of Nyquil do odd ( Read more... )

To be fair, it is not exactly the cold's fault this story decided it wanted to be something like 10,000 words. That's probably my fault.

Thank you! I have now switched from desperately hoping the thing would wait until I was done to be posted, to wanting to read all the things, so I can't wait see what you all wrote.

I was wondering how things were going with you when I didn't see your name! But fic is good anytime, and I am in total sympathy with you for recalcitrant stories that refuse to be contained by preconceived notions of appropriate wordcount. I ended up having to split mine into two: part 1 (submitted), and part 2 (partly written, currently stalled).

Hit me up if you find yourself in need of readers of any kind (audiencers, prereaders, proofers, betas, cheerleaders, etc.) And feel better!

ahahahah I was just over at your post trying to formulate my own sympathetic thoughts for stories that JUST. WON'T. END.

Thank you for the very kind offer! I may take you up on the beta, because I was realizing that I've officially gone past the length I'm comfortable just throwing up and hoping everything's fine. And, actually, vice versa! I always work better in a community.
