My two little hummers have gone south as well. Maybe they'll make a pit stop in your yard en route. They did fight over the hummingbird feeder I have, but since they had lots of hibiscus, hollyhocks, and other flowers to choose from in our yard, they both stuck around in spite of their rivalry for it. I've heard if you don't have the feeder (or flowers they like) out in the spring when they return scouting for food, you won't be as able to attract them later in the summer, since they'll have established their "turf" elsewhere by then. I think mid-April is when we have to put ours out here, but it's likely earlier where you are. They are so cute--even my spouse enjoys watching them. The helicopter was invented by someone who watched & admired hummers, I've heard. Maybe that's why he likes them.
