So it seems like it's kind of fanon to have pre-series Dean always trying to get Sam laid and such (or maybe I am hallucinating that? It's a possibility). Anyway, I actually think that Dean would be really super protective of virgin!Sam.
Like, okay, imagine (
in a diner somewhere... )

Is it wrong that I found that insanely hot? I love protective big brother Dean. *g*

It's all in the math. ;D

Where I read math as mouth and then had this whole slo-mo closeup of Dean's lips as he warned the nasty wimmen-folk off his Sam.
*melts*
As for the thoughts, I'm in two minds about that. Cannon has Dean setting Sam up, and I'm not sure my ideas about his character would have him being that protective. Maybe of Sindi, but not so much the other girl. I tend to think that Dean would encourage Sam to be more like him.

There was a lot of discussion about what Dean would have made of Sam's virginal status when monkiedude did one of her polls. This one: http://monkiedude.livejournal.com/28895.html
I personally think that Dean would have been protective. He might have teased a little, but he gets that he and Sam are different, and he wouldn't hurt Sam for the world.

*nods* I think Dean would have been totally protective.
Like, he slides into the car and tells Sam, "We need to have a discussion."
Sam's like, "Yeah?"
Dean nods and says, "We need to talk about girls."
At which point Sam groans and throws his hand over his eyes.
"I'm serious, Sammy." Dean is all earnest and stern. "A lot of girls out there are only after one thing. Don't let them take advantage of you. You wait until you find a nice girl who respects you for you."
Meanwhile, poor Sam is curled up in the corner of the seat going, "Can I please die now?"

"Dude, this is important, so listen up."
Sam does the shifty eyes thing. "What happened to no chick flick moments?"

Exactly right, Dean. Trampy McGee is for you, not your brother.
