While the focus of this blog is on all things 18th century, with emphasis on the Royal Navy, I sometimes come across something which is either so bizarre (the Battle for the Eternal Light, for example!) or awesome that I stretch the timeframe a little. In any case, this is still Age of Sail, though thoroughly not sailing related

In my old age, I'm coming to like the owl mascot/look/art more and more. I was all about foxes in my younger years, and I still like those, so I guess I've just added the owls. My grandma was a big owl collector; I never had any interest all those years ago, so I'm thinking it may simply be genetic. *G*

My mother has old jewellery that looks like the earrings but not in the owl design - she thinks they are worth nothing. If I was a good daughter I would show her this post...lol
