Screencaps and rant, now two for the price of one

I recently got a hold of a prehistoric document of Damian's acting career - his appearance as Dean Larke in "Holby City", back in 2004.

I am not a fan of Holby in general, but this one sounds particularly fuck-witted. I like to try to see the best possible side of things but there is no best possible side to that "plot".

COMMUNICATE characters! And WTF with judgy wifey? Seriously? She WAS UNFAITHFUL to him and yet HE WAS IN THE WRONG? The stupid... it burns!

Good grief. I bet it was written in a hurry, and had to be "topical". That's the only reason I can imagine that made it onscreen. Gah!

Also my mother lost a baby some 12 years before I was adopted, (another tv taboo trope thing), and at the time in Ireland there was no counselling, no talking things through and because she didn't have a baby that lived she lost some friends (in other words, people she had considered friends saw her coming and *crossed the road* to avoid having to speak to her, as if they were ashamed that her pregnancy had failed), so I get a bit ranty at topics like SHAMEFUL infertility.

If it was any actor other than teh Damo I would switch channels should it come on.

I was frankly baffled that an author could write such a piece of crap. Not only was the plot idiotic, but it all made absolutely no sense. I just can't imagine that many people watched this and though "aw, poor wife, good for her for dumping him!"

Good grief. I bet it was written in a hurry, and had to be "topical". That's the only reason I can imagine that made it onscreen. Gah!

Yes, maybe she found the draft in the "rubbish I've written but not deleted yet" folder on her computer...

*boggle* I just can't wrap my head around that. How can anybody behave like that? What's the justification? "It was a punishment from God for some sin or other?" Argh! This makes me want to break things. I'm so very sorry for your mother; nobody should have to go through this. :(

...Most women have to trick a man into being a "father" to their baby and this dude wants to do it even knowing it's not his - that is gold. If I had that, I wouldn't ever let it go. I'm sorry, but you place the worthless sperm shooter who will never be a father to your baby above your husband who can't have kids? Dumb cunt.

Clearly, these two shouldn't have been together and I think the dude dodged a bullet - he got grazed is all.

That was the other strange thing: the biological father wasn't even mentioned; she didn't even seem to think about telling him or taking legal steps to make him support the baby. The whole thing was just stupid, stupid, stupid.

Agreed. I'd been happy for the baby if there'd been a happy ending, but for him, he's probably better off without her...
