Absolutely! Andrew seems such an unlikely hired killer - yet he makes the Mercer character both believable and worthy of our sympathy. His casting was a masterstroke. (Even more amazing was the later casting of Garrow! Such versatility!) I'm not sure they had anywhere to go. I found the final episode so depressing I didn't know what to do with myself! I felt that Rose was a lost cause & Mercer wouldn't have an alternative dream ;)

My idea of "happy ending" would have been "Mercer shoots his supervisors, and they all move to the country, breeding sheep and living happily everafter." Admittedly not a very likely plot, but I can't help it, I'm a hopeless sap. :)
