"I don't have kids, but I know enough about parenting to state the following with confidence: any parent who is genuinely concerned that their child's worldview might be hopelessly altered by the unruly behaviour of a footballer has failed as a parent."

I have to say I agree, but then again, I live in a glass house and seem to be throwing a stone.

But, really, if a child is *that* affected by a footballer's personal life then that child pays too much attention to the papers and not enough to their own life. Then again, the soaps have characters doing *exactly* what the footie guys do privately but on the screen in front of them, perhaps the parents should consider not going ape over real people doing real things, and in fact stop paying attention to them, thereby giving the papers no reason to intrude, and skanks no reason to shag footballers to make their fortunes, and no scandals erupting to annoy the idiots who think that the footballers owe them their good behaviour. The footballers owe them nothing.
They behave as and how they like, and they still get the adulation. Bleh. Fools and their money/morals are soon parted.
