When Fauntling was in 1st grade, I told him I was glad he was so good at math, especially since I'm not. He asked, "Aren't people who are good at math geeks?" I said, "Not always, but it's pretty good to be a geek. Geeks are some of the highest paid people on the planet right now. And they definitely have the most fun."

How sad, though, that excelling at something is reason for criticism. Just what are those kids learning at home?!
