Mummies *are* scary. *shudder* Boris Karloff, anybody? I remember having seen "The Mummy" once and having nightmares! So you're not alone there. ;-)

Many of the things that frightened me as a child are still scary. Clowns are at the top of the list.

I HATE CLOWNS! HATE HATE HATE! --- insert mention of "IT" here ---

I seriously never understood kids who loved clowns. There mere sight of them! They always looked evil to me, and cruel; beating each other up and playing violent pranks on each other at the circus didn't help much there.

That might explain your dislike for football!

Maybe they were often portrayed in the past as violent and brutal?

I think I may have watched a movie in which they were the bad guys, I'm not sure. All I know is I would have full-blown nightmares featuring them.
