That sucks. I imagine that if they can't prove it's been delivered, then they get you a new one. I would keep trying, after you're less angry and liable to tear some customer service person's nuts off.
Less angry? I find that hilarious. The problem Matt is that I never sound angry. Nobody takes me seriously. I've never raised my voice to anyone in my life, let alone swear at someone, yell at them, or god forbid, raise my hand to them. Even my own kids when they're being assholes. I sometimes wish I could be like those really angry people on the phone who yell at the customer service rep until they get passed off to a manager. Instead, I beg, until I end up defeated. Unfortunately, I'll never be able to get to talk to a manager because nobody takes me seriously. I think it's funny that my writing conveys more anathema than I can convey in real life.
That's one of the worst customer service stories I've ever heard. Perhaps you should call back and, if you get that sort of thing again, ask for a supervisor? Can you call your credit card company and dispute the charge, since you never got the item and didn't get any help from the vendor?
ask to speak to his manager. go higher up. that was unexceptable (i hope you got his name). but call again and ask to speak to a manager. tell them about the guy you talked to and your situation. if the manager cant help, ask for someone even higher up

Poor car!
And that's completely insane re: Sony. WTF?? That's just ridiculous. I wonder if you can report them to the BBB or something?
