Holiday etiquette?

I asked the internet and it didn't have an easy-to-find answer for this question. Maybe someone on my friends list (or some kind stranger who happens upon my blog) will know more about the etiquette involved...

How you you tell your family you really don't want Yuletime presents? Can I just say, "I'd prefer you didn't buy me anything. Buy ( Read more... )

I think you do just that.

I mean with the economy in the state its in people may feel a bit of relief at not having to purchase an additional gift.

I don't think it makes you sound elitist, but considerate.

You could ask for giftcards, and ask for them early so you can shop for gifts to donate somewhere?
