To make up for the last f-locked post being a downer, some of my abbreviated adventures:

I forgot to add that the counter lady at the karaoke place spoke THICK Kyoto-ben. Like it was impossible to understand until she switched to standard. My Japanese power, other than standard, only entails Osaka-ben and some words in Okayama dialect.

I weep for all the boy!crushes that are smothered in depressingly conformist society. ;_;

I love Okayama. ♥ I've been to Korakuen a few times and everyone is always so nice!

I was almost flabbergasted by how awesome and friendly everyone was! I really want to go back and explore more around the prefecture.

Generally anywhere that does not get a lot of foreign tourists is super friendly when they get any and despite having Koraku-en, it's just not a popular tourist destination. Ritsurin, the garden in Takematsu is also really nice and a short trip from Okayama. Fukuoka is also GREAT!

Next trip to Japan I want to go to Matsue and Izumo. and maybe back to Tohoku, I love Yamagata-ken ;;_;;

I am always amazed by how adorably and dorky real life boy!love is. Which is kind of why I hate ridiculously romanticized fictional boy!love, the real deal is sweet and heartbreaking, awkward and wonderful.

tl;dr forget hearts and flowers, gimme awkward bike riding any day.
