Good movie. I definitely liked how they worked in the new ending.
Yeah, read the graphic novel. I think it makes a lot more sense if you do.
I found the movie to be incredibly good and it condensed the graphic novel in a really solid way that I did not expect. Usually when movies try, they tend to chop the source up so much that it's disjointed and unrecognizable, but damn, Watchmen did a great job on that front.
