Hey, miss you! I'm now the mom of a teenager (and another hot on her heels), still busy at the U, still happily married to Mike. We're playing Warhammer Online these days (when I have the time).
I hope that running Inpatient Services is less annoying than some of the jobs you were stuck with over the years. Here's hoping that the pregnancy attempts pay off, soon!
I haven't played any online games in awhile. I finally cancelled my long-neglected EQ account about 2 years ago...haha. I played WoW for awhile, but all my friends kept server hopping/switching alliances and I just got fed up with it and quit.
Inpatient Services is alright. It's an interesting job, for sure. I'm still sick of the leadership though. *shrug*
We should be finding out on the 16th of this month if we get to move or not. Cross your fingers for me!!
Yeah, the end of this month will be 3 years of trying. It's aggravating. But to be honest, we haven't really been trying too hard the last 6 months or so. Sometimes you just gotta take a break! It gets stressful!
Teenager, yup (and she's into MMORPGs -- really enjoying RvR in Warhammer which is quite a change from when she was seven or eight and wanted to start playing EQ but was too afraid to actually engage in combat against, say, an orc or bear in the East Commons).
Yes, stress is never good in life: whether from work or home issues. Where might you be moving if that happens? Since I'm in this town for at least twenty more years (*sigh*), I take vicarious pleasure in learning about other people's possibilities!
Chip off the ol' block eh? :) Ahhh, good old East Commons...I miss that place!! Hahah. My characters spent ALOT of time there.
We're not sure yet about the move, but we put down Tennessee, Florida, Washington (state, not DC), South Carolina and Georgia. Hubby wants to head out to the east coast, can you tell? Haha. TN and WA were my only input. WA because I love my upper west coast, and the base is in Seattle, which rocks. TN because my best friend recently moved like an hour away from the base that's there. I've only been to TN once, but it was really pretty, so I wouldn't mind giving living there a shot. I'm not so thrilled about Florida (hurricanes & going from one major tourist trap area to another), and I'm nervous about getting SC or GA just because I've never lived there or ever really been to that part of the country, so I don't know what to expect really. I've just lived on the west coast and a couple of midwest states. *shrug*
I finished school and got my Bachelor's degree and my teaching license. I am now working as a sub for the district I want to get hired into. We're back in the Salem area and we still play EQ, though not as regularly as we used to.
Glad to see you back and here's hoping on trying to get pregnant!
I'm mad at the weather up here...we had a grand total of 12 sunny days throughout the summer...and it SNOWED already! Other than that, still playing EQ and loving it, though I switched mains from my druid to my bard. I'm the only active bard in my guild at the moment, so I get all the phat lewt!
Shorty and Bug are growing like weeds, and Bug is still driving me BONKERS...but that's par for the course *L*
I HEARD you got snow! I'm so jealous! I've almost forgotten what snow is! Haha. I soooo want some pictures! My other AK friends aren't sending any my way. *pout*
We almost got stationed back up there. I'm so sad we didn't get it. :( I would love to go back.
So is EQ still around? Or is this like the new EQ 2 or whatever that came out that you're talking about?
I never quite got into my bard. I got her to like 20 or 30 something, but...meh. Well that and I was always in high demand with having a 60+ cleric.
Yep, this is still the original EQ, though I have characters one EQ2 also. They're actually releasing the 15th expansion later this month - Seeds of Destruction. The nice part about it is if you buy SoD, you get ALL the previous expansions and original game included.
The low levels stunk, but now that Andantei's level 71 (max at the moment is 80, going to 85 with the new exp.) she's useful not only in groups but in raids as well.
Forgot to mention we're gonna be having one of the grown-up kids moving back in with us...Hey You and his longtime girlfriend, along with the almost-2-year-old grandbaby are coming up here in the next month or so. YAY I get to spoil the granddaughter!
Oh wow! I can't believe there's 15 expansions!! Sheesh. That's cool that they're including all the expansions in the next one. Almost makes me wanna sign back up! Hahah. I'd be so behind the times though...lol. I wouldn't know what to do with myself. My last expansion was Omens of War, which I didn't even play much.
I got a new puppy, and in November 2007 all 70 lbs of him succeeded in lunging forward when I was in an awkward position, separating my pelvis. It may be February 2009 or later before it's healed. The lab rearranged all the job functions to keep me there in a desk job capacity. Iagoe started working at Tektronix but isn't very happy with his hours (and just yesterday was given one more responsibility to tackle in addition to all the ones he already doesn't have time for). After our parrot Lindy died in October last year, this past spring we got a new friend (Jitterbug) for Charlie and they get along swimmingly. Wilbur is an old dog but still happy and relatively pain free (he's 12 now, lab mix). Dudley the holy terror dog is slowly but surely calming down into something vaguely resembling a dog and not a tasmanian devil.
Good to see you posting again! I'd love to hear more about how things have been going for you!
I've been slacking about blogs/bulletins there lately too. It's been a busy month, and for a month or two before that I was obsessed with ancestry stuff, but I've slowed down on that a little too.

Salem huh? My old stomping grounds. How is it? I haven't been there in like a decade.
However, I finally got to go to Salem, MA a couple of weeks ago! Woohoo! It was awesome.
