Poor Spike! Oh my!

Great to see more of this. I am so glad your muse made a return visit!

Yep, the bitch is back -at least for this story-...goddess love her.

And yes, poor Spike. But I always remember when I was watching the show that I really wanted him to see that he deserved better. So he did. *cheeky grin*

Hurrah!

Isn't that what fanfiction is all about? Fixing the writers' mistakes? (tee hee)

Wow. Intense. I love how you describe Spike bating Angelus...and then the realization of what he and Dru do, or more accurately, don't have is just perfect! LOVE IT! More soon please!

I admit that the hardest part of this chapter was trying to come up with something for Dru to do that was so horrible that it would actually make Spike decide he'd had enough. I'm glad to see that I was at least on the right track.

Thanks for the fb, and you'll have to bug DarkLycoris for the next chapter. * ;) Luv ya, D *

Thanks a bunch. I know it's been a bit, but so it goes. This was mostly a transitional chapter, but necessary because it shapes everything after. I actually like writing this kind of internal conflict almost better than external conflict. ...which is convenient, since this way D doesn't have to write Angelus. *grins*

I don't hate Angel[us], but his return during season 6 made it difficult to like him. And he did treat my beautiful boy so abominally.

Sometime you need a lot of external goings-on to push plot and character development. Then you need quiet moments where those external stimulus can be processed and internalized. They may not be the most action-packed of chapters, but they do a great deal for giving the next action chapter a reason for happening.

Hee! I feel bad for Spike, but on the other hand I loved his flash of understanding about the nature of his, Dru's and Angelus' relationship.

And of course now he can start thinking about Willow *grin*.

Great chapter, BTW. You did a wonderful job describing Spike's epiphany, Angelus' cruelty, and Dru's selfishness.

Yeah, you do feel bad for Spike. But at the same time, you want him to see that there could be more...that there is more. Thanks for the fb and the encouragement.

Wow, that was a hard lesson for Spike to learn, but it's nice to see him waking up to the truth. Now we can just hope he finds someone who will treat him a little better! Where, oh where could he find someone like that I wonder? :-D

I wonder...will there ever be an answer?

Well, I suppose D and I could probably come up with something. Perhaps a W/S fic...

Glad you all are diggin' this.
