Tales of Beedle the Bard

Amazon purchased J.K. Rowling’s The Tales of Beedle the Bard at Sotheby’s for a whopping £1,950,000. That's $3.8 million to us Yanks. Rowling is donating the proceeds to a charity she co-founded to help improve the lives of institutionalized children across Europe. Neat.

So, that's what a $4M book looks like. Kinda cool, really.

I didn't know Amazon bought it, but hearing it makes perfect sense. After all, how much money have they made moving Harry Potter books themselves?

I only hope they somehow are able to make those stories available to us! Maybe they'll create a PDF version that we can purchase for download so they can recoup some of that cash ;)

I sure hope so. I'd love to read those stories. From the synopsis in the Amazon reviews they sound pretty cool!
