Sushi brunch was wonderful yesterday. We had a great turnout -- 12 people! We saved room for Tom and Cass too, since they were maybes but unfortunately they weren't able to make it after they went to the airport. I can't believe how much Kieran has grown in just the last couple weeks. He's so adorable.

After brunch, shadowy1, miss_zephirus, zoecat and I went to War of the ( Read more... )

Actually The Machinist was after Reign of Fire and Equilibrium. It's funny because whenever I mention his name, people say they loved him in some movie I didn't realize he was in like Empire of the Sun, Swing Kids or Little Women.

I didn't really take notice him until I saw Equilibrium, which I loved! Of course I haven't seen American Psycho yet which I hear is good too. If I'd seen that, maybe I would have known who he was sooner.

I saw an interview on E with him about gaining all the weight back before batman. He is a great actor!

He's quickly becoming one of my favorites. I loved his voice in Howl's Moving Castle. I didn't even know it was him until the credits at the end. Very sexy.

Oh, my poor poor Christian! what did they do to you?!
I really want to watch this movie it sounds interesting and so very creepy.

You totally need to watch American Psycho. He's absolutely perfect there. I've been a huge fan of his ever since. And If you get your hands on Velvet Goldmine, you will get to see him as a cute wimpy boy who among other things sleeps with Ewan McGregor, who in turn sleeps with the rather unappreciated hottie Jonathan Rhys-Meyers (yesss! its a triple feature!).

It's both interesting and creepy. Also very confusing because he's going mad and you're seeing things from his viewpoint. I think it's funny that I watched this and Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind together. I had no idea what either movie was about. They have a lot of similarities but were handled so differently.

Velvet Goldmine has been on my watch list for ages because of Ewan McGregor. I didn't realize Christian Bale and Jonathan Rhys-Meyers were in it too! I think that one needs to move to the top of my NetFlix queue :)

I absolutely loved Eternal Sunshine. Quite an interesting comparison! now I'm so much more curious about The Machinist!

Poor Christian doesn't show up as much as he should in Goldmine, and isn't as hot as he'd become lately (he's too busy being confused and cutely British), but all the other boys in the movie more than make up for that (pre-Jedi naked Ewan McGregor used to be so much more fun).

Ewan spent a lot of time naked before he hit the mainstream. On the subject of his nakedness, I loved The Pillow Book. If you haven't seen that, you should check it out. So beautiful. It's almost like a painting. More of a work of art than a film.
