i like the ching pick. he's on a tear right now, playin better than ever - plus the charisma he has with donovan from playing together in san jose (no, not with each others cojones).
def woulda gone with twell-dog or jc over chingy. i guess arena wants another big target forward in case something happens to mcbride. twellman is definitely the unluckiest one to not make the team.
you guys need to learn how to use lj... but yeah, i'm sure twellman is somewhere crying right now... this was his best shot to make the team by far, and he did way more at the international level than ching. he's going to have to beat out adu next go around.
Had a career high six appearances for the U.S. in 2005, then matched that total with six appearances in the USA’s first seven matches of 2006
Started in four of the six 2006 World Cup qualifying matches in which he played, scoring his two goals in back-to-back games in the semifinal round
His first goal for the USA came in his World Cup qualifying debut and was a critical late strike in a 1-1 draw in Jamaica in 2004 in the semifinal round of qualifying
Scored on a trademark header to open the scoring for the USA in a 2-0 qualifying win against El Salvador on Sept. 4, 2004
Is one of just three players to score a goal in each of his first two World Cup qualifying games (along with Eric Wynalda in 1996 and Eddie Johnson in 2004)
-Sure Twellman's hat-trick made a statement but other than that he struggled to hit net in all his other appearances. Cha-Ching!
