Last night, I was watching a made-for-tv movie (I forget the name), about an elementary school teacher with Tourette's Syndrome.  It was a very touching movie, and very reminiscent of something one might find in a "Chicken Soup for the Neuropsychiatric Patient" book.

I wholeheartedly agree with your classifications. Any song that came out in a year that begins with 198 or 199 is not an "oldie."

I agree wholeheartedly.

But more distressingly, did the character actually say, "BOOP! BOO-BOOP!" after asking the question? That MAKES NO SENSE!

Yes, well he sort of said that. It was me trying to illustrate his Tourette's syndrome noises. Yes, he made those noises after asking the question.
